The overall goal of my research is to understand the fundamental biology of plant-nematode interactions between the potato cyst nematode, Globodera rostochiensis and Globodera pallida, and potato.

My research project is focused to the following aspects:

• • Development of molecular diagnostic tools for the identification of potato cyst nematodes by studying the molecular structures of nematode parasitism genes
  • Functional characterization of nematode parasitism genes
  • Investigation of small RNAs from cyst nematodes
